INCLUDED AND NOT

Get facts from natives who witnessed the terrible times during the late 90´s on a full day tour that takes you back in time to the places that had most relevance throughout 44 years of Pablo´s life, starting from his humble neighborhood growing up all the way up to the buildings and mansions he accumulated during his life including his private prison, cemetery, and his final hideout when caught in 1993. Combining both city and rural sceneries, this comprehensive tour goes further to include one of the druglord´s abandoned mansions by the Guatapé Lake that can actually be spot from the top of the El Peñol rock.

Your private bilingual driver will come to your door and then embark on an all-inclusive journey by car with AC, first stop takes place at Pablo´s modest community growing up, ironically called “La Paz”, or peace in Spanish. Next, discover how he came up and the luxurious properties he built around the city in order to laundry all his millions. Furthermore, walk in to one his walk-in safes at the semi-destroyed Monaco building where the first car-bomb in Colombia was actioned in late 80´s.

After visiting Pablo´s prison or the “Cathedral”, get spectacular Medellin views and get ready to visit a private cemetery where siblings and cousins of the mafia boss finally rest even near Griselda Blanco or “black widow”, who was once Pablo´s mentor. Make your own conclusions but not until tour takes you near the soccer stadium to visualize the modest home and rooftop where Pablo was finally caught barefoot.

During the rest of the day tour heads east for about one hour to show you Pablo´s abandoned mansion “La Manuela” from top of the El Peñol rock that reaches almost 70 stories high. Lunch may come next at the cozy Guatape village just a mile away, a perfect place to walk around the square and discover why this colorful village has been named “Town of Zocalos”, referring to the facade´s fully decorated throughout the village. There is enough free time to walk around for photos and convenient facilities where to use bathrooms or grab snacks at any time so we recommend bringing cash and/or Colombian pesos since not every store takes credit cards.

Finally, tour takes you by private boat to Pablo´s abandoned mansion where you can also walk around and take photos of what´s left after years of curious visitors tearing down walls and cabinets. After approximately 8 hours it is now time to head back to the city and by now you should be able to make your own conclusions regarding Pablo´s biography and what it represents today for Colombia and the world.

NOTE: For exclusive service with Carlos the Ex-cop, it will only cost extra $100 USD. He is bilingual, and after being part of the SWAT team chasing Pablo he has a story that definitely makes the difference.

NOTE: The profit of these tours doesn’t go to former associates of Pablo Escobar. We tell the history of the dark days of Colombia but we are not glorifying Pablo Escobar in any way.
