¿Have you already enjoyed this experience?

This tour is perfect for those smart travelers who wish to take advantage of a few hours stop at Medellin´s International airport Jose Maria Cordova and explore the beautiful country side. Does not matter if you have just a quick stop, our personalized tours will perfectly fit your needs allowing you to make the best use of your limited time while in Medellin. Being 45 minutes away from Medellin city, the country side near the International airport is a perfect excuse to get out and discover the beauty of the area. Tour starts upon your arrival at Medellin´s International airport Jose Maria Cordova (JMC), where your private guide will hold a sign with your name outside of baggage claim. Just make sure and provide your full names and exact flight info.

Once your bilingual private guide has met you, tour embarks on a personalized journey by car (with AC), around the coziest villages located near the airport. Such places include the picturesque San Antonio de Pereira village, El Retiro village, and a final stop at a well-recognized local restaurant for a traditional tasty snack as a treat. Tour is estimated to last 4 hours and stops can be made at your convenience.

As you walk out of Medellin´s International airport, get ready to explore the soothing sceneries on the way to the first stop at San Antonio de Pereira, a warm little town that evokes visitors with delicious dishes made in the region. Sample a traditional dessert (included in price), as you walk around tranquilly and take the best postcard photos, there are bathrooms and cafeterias so we recommend bringing Colombian pesos since not every store takes cash.

Moving right along, tour drives you to Tequendamita natural retreat passing through lush landscapes and magnificent mansions. Take a few minutes to explore this relaxing retreat where ice cold water runs actively from the top of the mountains, an amazing moment with mother nature as you are headed to the next stop at El Retiro town where a massive slaves release took place in 1757.

Finally, at Retiro´s plaza you will learn closer about the first village where slavery came to an historical end in the late 1800´s. Reason why they celebrate a yearly tribute to black and white communities by painting their faces in such colors. Discover the temple that was finally built by slave’s hands before their massive release, then walk around the square to learn closer about our nation´s heroes, absorb the local atmosphere, and get some souvenirs.

Finally, tour takes you to one of the most popular local venues for a courtesy snack before heading back to the airport. Discover traditional tasty meals that will definitely inspire you to come back to Medellin and spend more time in the future. After approximately 4 hours, your guide gets ready to drive you back to the local or international airport in order to catch your next flight on time.
