¿Have you already enjoyed this experience?
This tour is perfect for those smart travelers who wish to take advantage of a few hours stop at Medellin´s domestic airport Enrique Olaya Herrera and explore the city. Does not matter if you have just a quick stop, our personalized tours will perfectly fit your needs allowing you to make the best use of your limited time while in Medellin. Tour starts upon your arrival at Medellin´s domestic airport Enrique Olaya Herrera (EOH), where your private guide will hold a sign with your name outside of baggage claim. Just make sure and provide your full names and exact flight info.
Once your bilingual private guide has met you, tour embarks on a personalized journey by car (with AC), around Medellin´s most significant locations near the airport. Such places include the Carlos Gardel tribute to Tango as you walk out of the local airport, the cozy replica of a typical Colombian village at Pueblito Paisa, the infamous Fernando Botero Plaza, and the fascinating cable car above the favelas. Tour is estimated to last 4 hours and stops can be made at your convenience.
First stop as you walk out of Medellin´s domestic airport is mean to provide you with an intro about the Tango history in the city since Carlos Gardel fatal death in 1935. For a few minutes, understand how the city has preserved such interesting music culture and take photos at Gardel´s tribute right outside the airport. Next, tour takes you to cozy Pueblito Paisa, where you will share panoramic city views as your guide fully narrates the history of our antecessors. There is enough time to walk around and take the best postcard photos, and there are bathrooms and cafeterias so we recommend bringing Colombian pesos since not every store takes cash.
Moving right along, tour heads towards downtown passing in front of some of the most representative city buildings along the government district and major´s office. Finally, at Botero Plaza you are free to walk around and take photos of the voluptuous 23 statues donated by our most popular artist Fernando Botero. A great place to absorb the local atmosphere and get some souvenirs.
Finally, tour takes you to the poorest neighborhoods by cable car which is an amazing experience that will allow you to comprehend the impressive evolution of Medellin as a city. Visit the average Colombian neighborhoods with your local guide, learn tips, and absorb the local atmosphere as you are guided around these interesting slums.
After approximately 4 hours, your guide gets ready to drive you back to the local or international airport in order to catch your next flight on time.
