From arrival to departure, you will be introduced into local customs and breathtaking sceneries. This comprehensive package puts together the best of the city of Medellin during a couple of days for introduction, museums, and shopping. A couple of days are spent visiting the most representative villages around Medellin such as: Guatape and Santafe de Antioquia, which are considered part of the national heritage. And finally, a full day to a coffee farm just 1 hour away from Medellin, where you´ll learn the coffee process from the hands of a real collector, enjoy lunch, and ride horses. Tours are fully narrated, and start times are flexible and you may steer tour around according to your preferences
ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival – Check In: your private bilingual guide will be holding sign with your name outside of baggage claim, please provide exact flight info. After airport pick up, guide can make a stop on the way to your hotel if you need to stop at the ATM and get COP pesos. The ride takes almost 1 hour depending on your hotel location in Medellin.
Day 2 Medellin City Tour at 9 AM: On this full day tour you will explore Medellin´s most touristic icons such as:
- Pueblito Paisa
- Botero Plaza
- Cable car
- Arvi park
- Comuna 13
Feel free to take your time along the day, there are aproximately 8 hours to complete these stops while also driving by interesting places such as: park of lights, barefoot park, 70 boulevard, Laureles. Stop for lunch can happen anytime you feel hungry and guide will make recommendations on the best available venues along the way. Lunch is at your own expense.
Day 3 Guatape & Peñol rock at 9 AM: Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and visit the colorful Guatape town, not without first checking out spectacular views from the top of Peñol rock. The ride is just a couple of hours from Medellin and the sceneries are all worth it. Lunch usually takes place in Guatape town where you can enjoy tilapias, among many other local dishes at your own expense.
Day 4 Full day coffee farm including lunch and horse ride at 9 AM: Just 1 hour away from Medellin there is one of the most recognized gourmet coffee farms, where you can learn the lifecycle of coffee from the hands of local collectors. Play the role of a typical collector, interact, and discover secrets about coffee you would have never thought of. Lunch takes place at the farm and this day lunch is on us. After lunch there is a couple of hours to ride horse around the farm and enjoy the panoramic views.
Day 5 Colonial Santafe de Antioquia at 9 AM: Get away from the actual city and discover the fascinating village where Medellin was originally founded. History, tradition, and colonization all in one place. After lunch (at your expense), there is enough time to walk around the cobblestone streets and go back in time to colonial times. In fact, a visit next to the Occident bridge will inspire you to take impressive photos of the Cauca canyon as you walk along the bridge that was built by a very particular local engineer.
Day 6 Museum tour and shopping at 9 AM: You can’t leave Medellin without first paying a visit to main museums such as Antioquia museum, modern art museum, and El Castillo museum. You´ll have a better idea of local artists and important characters who have made history, and will definitely inspire you to come back soon. Your guide will make suggestions on where to stop for lunch according to your preferences, lunch at your expense. During the afternoon, tour takes you to the main shopping districts so you can bring home unique coffee brands, souvenirs, or else. Either downtown, or at the most fashionable malls you´ll have several shops to choose from. Full day that you can customize for either Museums, gastronomy (samples included in price), shopping, or Pablo Escobar history including entrance to his museum.
Day 7 Departure: International airport is located 50 minutes away from Medellin and it is recommended to arrive at least 3 hours before time of departure for international flights. For domestic flights you are expected to arrive at least 1 hour prior to time of departure. With that in mind, please let us know ahead of time what is the best time to collect you, just in case you feel like taking a last photo of the city views on the way to the airport, or perhaps stop for souvenirs or else.
